Facebook Adds Remote Logout Feature to Boost Users’ Security

by Sathishkumar on September 3, 2010

We all know that there are huge concerns over users’ security in Facebook and the Facebook team is coming up with many new features to resolve security issues. To boost users’ security, Facebook now comes up with the Remote Logout Feature which will give users, the ability to see their overall account activity. It also gives the ability to remotely logout of active sessions.

remote logout feature to boost facebook security

Have you ever forget to logout from Facebook in a public computer when you left? Or you have a doubt in mind that someone else is using your Facebook account at home. Now with this remote logout feature, you can get your profile most recent activity which includes the place of access, time of activity and device type/browser used for accessing your profile.

There is more to this new feature. In case, if you’re still logged in on other devices you can immediately log out on those devices from one central control in your account using this feature. “In the unlikely case that someone accesses your account without your permission, you can shut down the unauthorized login before resetting your password and taking other steps to secure your account and computer”, the Facebook team explained in their official blog post published yesterday.

Facebook Added Security

To enable this new feature, just go to your Account settings page and under account security enable login notification’s. You can also choose to receive the login notifications through SMS. This is a great addition to Facebook users’ security and this feature will be rolled out for everyone very soon.
