The long awaited PR update from Google is finally here, but it’s not a good news for most of the bloggers and webmasters. The Google Page Rank update which happened today after a very long time seems to be a strict one from Google and many blogs got only a minor update in their PR. It’s not a great news, yet people like me are excited about this update, because this blog (TechieMania) got a PR of 1 from zero.

According to SEO experts Page Rank is of two types, one is the public PR which was updated today and can be detected by Google Toolbar or SearchStatus Add-on for Firefox. The second one is the Real PR which updates more often, to improve the Google search engine results and can’t be detected using any toolbar.
One of the main factor which determines the PR is the quality and quantity of links to your website. You need to take care of both of these things, to get a good PR for your website. This blog TechieMania got a huge number of backlinks but it seems the backlinks quality was a bit on the downside. That might be the only reason TechieMania got PR 1.
To increase the number of backlinks for your blog or website, follow these steps:
1. Do article marketing on High PR article directories.
2. Do blog commenting on High PR dofollow niche blogs.
3. Do forum posting on High PR forums.
4. Do guest blogging on High PR niche blogs.
5. Promote your blog in Social Media sites.
If you are not aware of the number of backlinks for your blog, use the tool given below to check it.
But remember building backlinks will not be enough to get a good PR. You need to do On Page SEO along with producing and publishing quality contents regularly for your blog.
Update: Google once again updated its PR on June 27, 2011 and it has been a great news for most of the bloggers and webmasters (even for me too since TechieMania PR has gone from 1 to 4). The PR update which happened today is not a strict one from Google and most of the blogs and websites have seen a strong rise in their Page Rank.
