You need to take care of many things like site design and layout, readership, promotion and the list just goes on.

Free SEO Report

In the already crowded blogosphere, it is really difficult for your website or blog to come out on the top, if you don’t follow the basics of promoting your blog. One such promotion factor is Search Engine Optimization (SEO). If you come over this term for the first time, here’s a definition of SEO from Wikipedia, “Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the volume and quality of traffic to a web site from search engines via “natural” (“organic” or “algorithmic”) search results”.

I have used SEORush, and they provide some important information in their report. But the only problem is about Google indexed pages. SEORush puts it as not indexed, while all other tools give a specific (and same) number of pages indexed.
