Everyone familiar with blogs would most likely agree to this generalization: Blogs are important. All major corporations probably have one, and often they may have multiple blogs to promote different parts of their company. Almost all major news channels broadcast their content again through blogs. Why? Here are the main and real reasons why you should have a blog:

why are blogs important

Give personality to your company:

A blog will make your company seem like an individual who cares, instead of being a corporation that just pushes services and/or products. This will let your potential customers trust you more, thus making your company more appealing for them. Many companies often find it hard to think of things to write about, but I would urge companies to think about questions/concerns that your clients or customers may have and to try to answer these concerns in the form of a blog, for example, if you are a contractor you have have a “Home Remodeling Advice Blog”.

Do Check:

Search Engine Optimization:

By placing excellent and original content on your site, your web page will be indexed and ranked by Google and other search engines. If your blog is truly valuable to its visitors, it will provide a great opportunity to get good backlinks, too. Blogs nowadays have a lot of built in capabilities that allow content sharing, which in turn will help with link building.

Staying relevant and noticed:

The primary goal of having your blog should be to help your company be more significant as a trusted information source. This is what almost all Internet users are looking for—information, news and solutions. Your blog is a great facilitator for interaction with social networks, which will allow other people to impart your content to others. The most important thing to remember is that you need to make your blog relevant; if you are a doctor’s office, you may think about having a blog that dispenses “weight loss advice”, your clients will appreciate the effort you put into your blog and this will in turn build your company’s brand.

Do Check:

Be viral:

If your content is shared, it will continue being so. If you are using platforms such as WordPress, there are a lot of plugins available that will make content sharing easier. Once the information on your blog becomes a favorite by the reader, the possibilities of it being shared to others become higher, thus, generating traffic that will continuously grow as days go by. If you are able to correctly evaluate the needs of your customers and answer these needs in your blog, this will bring great value to both your website and your blog.

These are but some of the reasons why your company should have a blog. The Internet is a huge universe that offers many great advantages for your business, and blogging is just one way to capitalize on it. Do check our article on why you should have a personal blog.

Almost everyone is running a blog these days but how it affects the readers have not become less either. A blog reaches out to millions of readers or potential customers which also means one’s products and services goes out to a global market. A blog also gives a closer look of the product so certainly interacting and being knowledgeable about a product before buying is a much preferred way.
